Jogja Honeymoon Package

Romantic moments in the enchanting cultural city

One of our couples once said they chose Jogja for their honeymoon because they wanted "something not mainstream but still romantic." And that is exactly it — Jogja has something Bali does not: tranquility. Sunset at Ratu Boko with ancient temple ruins as a backdrop, sunrise at Borobudur while mist still wraps around the stupas — these are the quiet moments that bring you closer together.

Our favorite honeymoon route: day one, a relaxed city exploration — Taman Sari, the water palace once reserved for the Sultan's princesses, then up to Ratu Boko right at 4 PM. Bring a camera, because the golden hour light here is unmatched anywhere in Java. Dinner can be at Abhayagiri Resto overlooking forests and valleys, or Bale Raos inside the Kraton complex, serving authentic royal Mataram recipes.

Day two, the magical Borobudur sunrise — just the two of you among stupas and morning mist, like something out of a film. Midday, head to Indrayanti Beach with its clean white sand and seaside cafes for lunch with the sound of waves. For more privacy, Wediombo Beach is quieter but equally beautiful. Our drivers understand privacy — they will not hover or intrude on your moments.

Recommended Itinerary

1

Day 1: Arrival & Sunset

Airport pickup, check in first and rest a bit — do not rush straight into sightseeing, enjoy your hotel. Start around 2 PM: Taman Sari, whose architecture is incredibly photogenic for couple shots. At 4 PM, head up to Ratu Boko — arrive before sunset, sit among the ancient ruins and watch the sun go down. Evening dinner at Abhayagiri Resto (make a reservation) or Bale Raos for a royal palace dining experience.

Day 2: Sunrise & Beach

Wake up at 3:30 AM — tough, but worth it. Arrive at Borobudur by 5 AM, climb to the top as the sky begins to change color. This shared experience between just the two of you is irreplaceable. Finish around 8 AM, breakfast near Magelang. Head south: Indrayanti Beach (2 hours from Borobudur), lunch at a beachside cafe. Afternoon, stop at Mangunan Pine Forest — the photo spots are romantic, especially the wooden platforms overlooking the valley. Return to the city by evening.

Day 3: City & Shopping

Relaxed morning, check out, then stroll through the Kraton — learn about the Sultanate's history together. Continue to Malioboro, shop for matching couple batik (many shops sell couple sets) and souvenirs. If there is time before your flight, stop at a coffee shop in Prawirotaman — this neighborhood is artsy and cozy, perfect for some final quality time before heading home.

Important Tips

For hotels, Plataran Heritage near Borobudur is the top pick if budget is not a concern — private villas with pools and rice field views. For something more affordable but still romantic, Greenhost in Prawirotaman has a rooftop pool and Instagram-worthy design.

Reserve dinner at Abhayagiri at least 1 day ahead — it often fills up on weekends. Request the outdoor table facing the valley, especially if arriving near sunset.

If you want a quieter beach than Indrayanti, try Wediombo or Timang. They are 30 minutes further but couples who have been there say it is worth it — almost a private beach experience.
