A pattern we often see from corporate clients: the HR or GA team is tasked with finding "a gathering spot that is fun but not too far and within a reasonable budget." The answer usually ends up being Jogja — and it makes sense. Jakarta-Jogja flights are just IDR 500-800k, all the attractions in Jogja are close together, and there are plenty of venues for both formal events and outdoor activities.
For small teams of 10-15 people (say one division), we provide comfortable Hiace vans — good AC, cushioned seats, and drivers experienced with corporate groups. Teams of 15-20 can use an Elf, and for large gatherings of 30-50 people, full AC tourist buses. For directors or VIP clients tagging along, we also have separate Alphard and Fortuner vehicles.
Our clients' favorite gathering agenda: day one, Merapi Lava Tour by jeep (great for bonding, the right amount of adrenaline), followed by a welcome dinner at a restaurant with a view like Abhayagiri or HeHa Sky View. Day two, rafting on the Elo River (medium level, safe but still exciting) or outbound activities in the Kaliurang area. Final day, cultural tour at Borobudur then Malioboro before heading home. We can help coordinate with event organizers for team building games and an MC — just tell us your budget and group size.
Recommended Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Fun
Pick up the group at the airport (coordinate with the PIC, usually 1-2 flights arriving together). Hotel check-in, 1-hour rest. At 2 PM, light ice breaking at the hotel, then at 3 PM head to the Merapi Lava Tour — each jeep fits 4-5 people, so you can race between jeeps, fantastic for team bonding. Finish at 5:30 PM, go straight to the welcome dinner venue. Popular choices: Bale Raos (royal palace ambiance) or HeHa Sky View (casual with panoramic views).
Day 2: Team Building
Depart at 7:30 AM to the Elo River for rafting — about 2 hours, medium level that is safe but still exciting (professional guides included). Alternatively, if the team prefers outbound activities, there are venues in Kaliurang with flying fox, paintball, and problem-solving games. Group lunch at the venue. Afternoon at 2 PM to Borobudur — this is usually the team-wide group photo moment. Evening gala dinner at the hotel, which can double as an awards and closing ceremony.
Day 3: Tours & Departure
Relaxed morning, hotel checkout. Head to Malioboro for souvenir shopping — allow 1.5-2 hours because everyone will be browsing batik and bakpia. Tip: pre-order bakpia from Bakpia Pathok 25 the day before if you need a large quantity, to avoid queuing. Drop-off at the airport according to each person's flight schedule — we can arrange staggered shuttles if flights are at different times.

Important Tips
Corporate gathering season is Q4 (November-December) and early year (January-February). During these periods our bus fleet is often fully booked 2 weeks ahead. If possible, book 3-4 weeks before the event date.
We can issue official invoices and receipts for company reimbursement. Invoice format can be adjusted to your finance team's requirements — company name, tax ID, and itemized details.
For directors or VIP clients joining the gathering, we recommend a separate vehicle (Alphard or Fortuner). This way they travel comfortably without having to ride the bus, and can arrive or leave on their own schedule.
