Coral Island & Mangrove Forest
What makes Kukup Beach different from other Gunungkidul beaches: there is a small coral island reachable by a bridge, and a mangrove conservation area on the west side. Kids love the bridge to the coral island (safe, with railings), and the mangroves provide shade — perfect when other beaches are scorching.
Kukup is also quieter than Baron or Indrayanti, so if you want a more relaxed beach atmosphere with family, this is the right choice. Entry ticket IDR 10,000.

How to Get There
Between Baron and Krakal — just 3-5 minutes' drive from each. If beach hopping, Kukup is usually the second stop after Baron.
Travel Tips
Bridge to the coral island is safe for children (has railings) — from the island top, the open sea view is excellent
Mangrove area on the west side is shaded and cool — a nice resting spot after getting hot on the beach
