Krakal Beach
Snorkeling Spot in Gunungkidul
Snorkeling in Jogja? You can! Krakal Beach has decent coral reefs and relatively calm waters compared to other Gunungkidul beaches. Colorful fish, starfish, and occasionally small turtles can be found in the shallow waters near the rocks.
Rent snorkeling gear at the beach for IDR 25,000-50,000. Best time is morning 08:00-11:00 when water is still clear and waves are calm. Afternoons can get rough. It is not Bali or Raja Ampat, but for a south Java beach, Krakal is a pleasant surprise.
