Drini Beach
Small Island Reachable at Low Tide
At low tide, the sea at Drini Beach retreats and reveals a rocky path you can walk to reach a small island in the middle of the bay. From the island top, you can see clear blue water on both sides — a moment that feels like having your own private island.
Water on the inner side of the bay is relatively calm (sheltered by the coral island), making this one of the safer Gunungkidul beaches for playing in the water, though caution is still needed. Check the tide schedule before coming — at high tide, the small island is unreachable.
