Omah Cantrik
Dining with Borobudur View
Eating nasi liwet (traditional rice) while seeing Borobudur Temple's silhouette in the distance — that is the Omah Cantrik experience. This restaurant hides in the Menoreh hills, among coffee gardens and coconut trees, with an atmosphere that makes you forget you are in a restaurant and feel like eating at grandmother's village home.
Traditional Javanese menu — order the complete nasi liwet (IDR 35,000-50,000/portion) and sit in the open wooden pavilion. Best time is late afternoon during golden hour: Borobudur looks like a miniature amid the green valley. Weekends are often full — make a reservation.

How to Get There
From Jogja take Magelang Road north toward Borobudur, then turn into the Menoreh hills before reaching Borobudur — total about 40 km, 1-1.5 hours. The final access road climbs into the hills and is somewhat narrow, but asphalt is good. We usually combine this with a Borobudur trip — explore the temple in the morning, continue to Omah Cantrik for lunch.
