Affandi Museum
Gallery & Home of Indonesia's Legendary Painter
Affandi painted with his fingers — squeezing paint directly from tubes onto canvas, then spreading it with bare hands. The result? Expressive works now worth billions of rupiah. And 250+ of his original paintings are housed at Affandi Museum — the home and studio he designed himself, with a roof curving like a banana leaf.
Along Solo Road, 15 minutes from Malioboro. Tickets IDR 30,000 to see a collection worth hundreds of billions if sold. If you love art, this is a must. If you do not, come anyway — the architecture of the house itself is stunning.
