Temple

Plaosan Temple

Twin Temple Blending Buddhist and Hindu Elements

Once upon a time, a Hindu king fell in love with a Buddhist princess. To prove his love, he built a temple blending both faiths. That is Plaosan Temple — the "love temple" with perhaps the oldest romance story in Jogja.

Only 2 km from Prambanan, but the atmosphere is completely different: quiet, peaceful, surrounded by rice fields. No wonder it is a favorite pre-wedding photo location. The twin temples (Plaosan Lor and Plaosan Kidul) stand side by side, symbolizing two traditions living in harmony. Tickets are only IDR 10,000 and you can have the temple practically to yourself.
