Avanza vs Calya

Backpackers and couples visiting Jogja are often drawn to the Calya or Sigra because of the rock-bottom price. And honestly, for 2-3 people doing light city sightseeing, the Calya is perfectly adequate. But there is a mistake we see repeatedly: groups of 5-6 adults cramming into a Calya to save money. The third row is truly emergency seating — knees pressed against the seat in front, and if you have a large suitcase, forget about trunk space. The gap to an Avanza is only about IDR 50-75k per day, and for 5+ passengers, that upgrade is not a luxury but a necessity.
