And yes, you can go sandboarding here (IDR 25,000 board rental). Best in late afternoon when the sun is low — sand is not too hot and the light is dramatic for photos. Near Parangtritis, so combine it with sunset at the beach.

1 km from Parangtritis — 28 km from Jogja, 50 minutes. Combine: sand dunes at 4 PM, then Parangtritis sunset at 5:30 PM.
