Cave Tubing Adventure in Gunungkidul
The first time trying cave tubing at Goa Pindul, most guests react the same way: "Wait, the current is this gentle?" That is exactly what makes Goa Pindul suitable for all ages — from 5-year-olds to 70-year-old grandparents. You simply sit on a rubber tube, float slowly through a 350-meter cave, looking up at stalactites that are thousands of years old.
At one point, the guide turns off all flashlights. Total darkness. Then asks everyone to be quiet. All you hear is water dripping from the cave ceiling. That moment usually leaves people silent, realizing how small we really are.
The drive from Jogja takes about 1.5 hours via Wonosari — the road is winding but the Gunungkidul limestone hill scenery along the way cures any boredom.

How to Get There
From Jogja take the Wonosari direction — via Piyungan Road, then climb into the Gunungkidul limestone hills. The road is well-paved but has sharp curves, so those prone to car sickness should sit in front. About 60 km, 1.5 hours. Can be combined with Indrayanti or Timang Beach after tubing, as they are in the same direction.
