Panguk Kediwung Hill
Sea of Clouds & Sunrise in Mangunan
Jogja photographers have a secret that only leaked in recent years: Panguk Kediwung Hill. During dry season sunrises, the valley below fills with thick white clouds — exactly like an ocean. Trees emerge like small islands in the cloud "sea." This hard-to-believe view is real.
In the Mangunan area, near Pine Forest and Fruit Garden. Tickets IDR 5,000. Arrive at 05:00 for sunrise. The sea of clouds phenomenon depends on weather — most frequent in dry season (April-October) after the previous night's rain.
