Ngobaran Beach
Beach with Hindu Temple & Spiritual Atmosphere
Suddenly there is a Balinese temple on a Gunungkidul beach. You are not lost — Ngobaran Beach genuinely has a Hindu temple built by the local Hindu-Javanese community. The atmosphere is spiritual: incense aroma, small bells, and Indian Ocean waves as the soundtrack.
Sunset here is the most special among Gunungkidul beaches — the temple silhouette against an orange-purple sky is a photo no filter can replicate. Tickets only IDR 5,000, and this beach is usually quiet as it is not on the popular beach-hopping route.
